Truth about Penis LengtheningVideo Description:Is a bigger penis really possible? Do you really need one? Check out this video for the facts - and fictions - about penis enlargement possibilities. Transcript: You’ve probably opened your inbox on many occasions to be greeted by penis enlargement spam. So, is a bigger penis really possible? Men who wonder if a bigger penis is possible will be happy to hear that the answer is a cautious ‘yes,’ but perhaps that’s not the right question. A better query might be, ‘Is a bigger penis necessary?’ and that answer is ‘no.’ The average penis measures 3 to 4 inches when flaccid and 5 to 7 inches when erect.  Most men fall somewhere in this range, and studies show that most women rarely give penis size a second thought.  Nonetheless, many men still seek out ways to make their penis longer or wider, but often see minimal change, or even disastrous results. Pills and patches are often touted as amazing penis extenders, but the medical community is unanimous in their opinion that these “unbelievable” cures are just that…unbelievable. Another questionable method, called jelqing, or “penis exercise,” involves stroking and squeezing the penis from base to head repeatedly, in a milking motion.  While many jelqers anecdotally report penis growth of up to 2 inches, there is no medical evidence that jelqing does anything more than cause harmful bleeding under the skin, which may lead to temporary swelling. The Swedish Penis Enlarger, made famous in Austin Powers, was based on vacuum constriction devices called penis pumps. These devices are a common treatment for erectile dysfunction. However, penis pumps are not an effective way to increase penis length, and vascular damage can occur if too much vacuum pressure is applied. The only medically approved way to enlarge the penis is via surgery, but even this should be approached with caution. The most popular procedure is penis lengthening surgery. During a lengthening, a doctor cuts the suspensory ligaments that attach the penis to the pubic bone. A spacer is often inserted into the spot where the cut was made to stop the penis from “healing,” and thereby pulling the severed tissue together. Less than 40 percent of men who undergo penis lengthening report satisfaction with the results, because the average erect length gain is only about ½ an inch. Some men want, not a longer penis, but a wider one. This is possible using fat injections or fat grafts.  Fat injections work in the same way as lip plumping – fat is drawn from another part of the body and injected under the skin. Fat grafts increase width by wrapping multiple strips of flesh around the skinless penis. The skin is then sewn up over the grafts.  Although these surgeries do enjoy some success, they are costly and risky. In fact, all penis surgery can result in scarring, loss of sensation, erectile dysfunction and infection. However, there is one safe way to get a bigger penis, at least temporarily – take a hot shower.  The heat will make your penis as full as it can be without being erect.  The bottom line: Penis enhancement is rarely worth the effort, cost, and potential side effects. But if you can’t let go of the idea, please talk to your doctor.
