But with the results of new research conducted at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, things could be looking up for these men at last! That's because, scientists at this New York-based school recently discovered an ointment that -- when applied directly to the penis -- caused arousal in 5 out of 7 subjects. Of course, there's a catch to this exciting news! (pause for drama) The subjects were....... laboratory rats. So what's the science behind this miraculous cream? The ointment used in the experiment, contained microscopic particles, that caused the bodily release of nitric oxide, or N-O. N-O has long been known to open blood vessels in the penis, in turn allowing excess blood to flow there, and eventually resulting in an erection. Therefore, it makes sense that rat penises expanded in response to this topical treatment. Can what worked wonders for rats do the same for man? And will it soon be possible to buy ED cream at your local pharmacy? More research is needed, and these answers remain to be seen -- but one thing IS likely, Those rat-rubbing researchers may very well wonder WHAT they've gotten themselves into!
