Transcript:
Erections can be a lot of funBut what if a hard-on just wont go away? Medically, any erection that lasts longer than four hours is classified as the serious condition: priapism. Priapism is often painful and is generally not sexually induced. As in a normal erection, however, priapism begins when the penis fills with blood and becomes erect. Unlike a typical erection that ceases after sexual activity is complete, an erection of this type doesnt abate, even after orgasm. The causes of priapism are often serious diseases, such as leukemia or sickle cell anemia. Medicationslike some anti-depressants and anti-psychoticscan also be partly to blame. Rarely, drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction can lead to priapism. Priapism is severe and can lead to long-term damage like the inability to get a normal erection. Since no one wants that, seek immediate medical attention for an erection that lasts more than four hours!
